Trained in both the UK and New Zealand, Associate Professor Johnson has completed the additional qualification of Subspecialist in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.  Known internationally, his clinical research interests in gynaecology and fertility currently includes evidence based fertility treatments, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries and ovarian reserve. Associate Professor Johnson is President of the World Endometriosis Society (2014-2020) and has served on the Board of the World Endometriosis Society since 2008. He is Immediate Past Chairperson of the RANZCOG Subspecialty Training programme in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and was the inaugural Chair of the Australasian multi-centre clinical research network REproduction And Clinical Trials (REACT-ANZ) and the Reproductive Medicine consensus group ACCEPT (Australasian CREI Consensus Expert Panel on Trial evidence). As Associate Editor of the Australasian journal ANZJOG, Associate Professor Johnson has published many papers himself on a variety of fertility and gynaecology related subjects.  Most recently notable is the study of the innovative technique developed for unexplained and endometriosis-related infertility, using lipiodol, a poppy seed oil. Associate Professor Johnson is a member of Fertility SA’s Expert Panel, a group of Specialist Reproductive Endocrinologists and Gynaecologists who work together on complex cases, helping to achieve improved fertility outcomes.
